LAMAY

TO PISAC
(Full-day)

This is a beautiful but challenging high-altitude trek due to its length and elevation, so we recommend at least two days of prior acclimatization before attempting it. The hike is incredibly rewarding, taking you through some of the most remote landscapes of the Sacred Valley, with spectacular mountain views, high-altitude lagoons, native flora and fauna, and traditional Andean communities along the way.

In the early morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and drive to the community of Poques, located high above Lamay, where we begin our hike.

From here, the trail gradually climbs through the Puna, a unique high-altitude ecosystem characterized by wide open landscapes, native grasses, and traditional stone houses with straw roofs. Along the way, we may see local families tending their fields and grazing herds of alpacas and llamas, offering a glimpse into daily life in the high Andes.

We continue uphill until reaching Lloque Pass, the highest point of our hike at approximately 4,316 m / 14,160 ft. From here, we leave the Lamay side of the valley behind and begin our descent toward the community of Paru Paru, near Pisac.

As we walk downhill, we pass picturesque lagoons and wetlands surrounded by impressive Andean scenery, with the chance to observe a variety of native plants and birdlife. We will stop along the way to enjoy a hearty box lunch in the mountains.

Our hike continues toward the Kinsacocha Lakes, a group of three beautiful high-altitude lakes surrounded by reeds and native vegetation. From here, the route eventually leads us toward the impressive archaeological area above the town of Pisac, where the well-preserved ruins make for a spectacular and rewarding end to a demanding day in the mountains.

At the end of the hike, our private vehicle will be waiting to take us back to your hotel or onward to your next destination.
